Our Story
Ironcutter Media was started in 2004 by Alivia Tagliaferri, an author and documentary filmmaker, as a boutique media house that specialized in blending socially-conscious themes with traditional and new mediums. Alivia envisioned the company as a platform for artists who are passionate about telling stories that connect us all.
From the very beginning we produced books and documentaries that raised awareness about important issues and fostered discussion. Over the years, we’ve a recognized there is a great need for clients who want the quality of their original work to be reflected in the finished product. Toward that end, we’ve created a number of signature services across our production and publishing service platform including a groundbreaking technology for authors who want to create a personal experience with their readers in the digital world.
We are still close to our roots. In 2011-2012, Ironcutter has co-produced a documentary film, Profiles in Service: It Takes A Nation, as well as co-written a stage adaption of Beyond the Wall: The Journey Home with two Iraq War Veterans and retired U.S. Marines. The team is finalizing a movie script adaptation this spring.
This Memorial Day Weekend, Alivia will again participate in Rolling Thunder XXVI to sign donated books for veterans and ride with Virginia Chapter 3. Welcoming home our veterans is something very close to us. And we will continue to find ways to serve as civilians of our community and citizens of our country.
