An
author, publisher, producer and director, Alivia is a 1999 graduate of
the Pennsylvania State University (BA, History) and founder of
Ironcutter Media, LLC.
In
August, 2003, when Alivia C. Tagliaferri spent time working on a
corporate video project for the USO of Metro DC at Walter Reed Army
Medical Center, her assignment was to videotape celebrities visiting and
boosting morale of the war-wounded, but it was an experience that would
impact her deeply and ultimately change her assignment in life.
Inspired, she began writing.
What resulted is her debut novel, Beyond the Wall: The Journey Home (formerly titled Still the Monkey, What Happens to Warriors after War) a
reality-based work of historical fiction that depicts the relationship
between a Vietnam veteran and Iraq War veteran facing their post-combat
obstacles and the difficult journey home – home being a metaphor for
normalcy, solace, a physical structure yet also the mental and spiritual
encasing for one’s heart, mind and soul.
A
native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and a 1999 graduate of the
Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
History, Alivia left the 'gray-walled' corporate world behind in 2005 to
focus on her passion – writing. A year later, she established a media company as a platform to share her story and the stories of other authors and artists.
In addition to her creative managerial duties with Ironcutter Media, she presents literary discussions on PTSD,
has appeared as a guest on several TV and radio shows, wrote an article
featured in ‘The Veterans Voice’ (July, 2007), mentors high school
students enrolled in Nancy Mantelli’’s Professional Video Production
class at West Potomac Academy, developed a workshop for high school
students ‘How to Market Ideas and Creativity, is a member of the
