IRONCUTTER MEDIA

BEYOND THE WALL DISCUSSION SERIES
Inspired by the stories and research she gleaned while writing Beyond the Wall: The Journey Home (formerly Still the Monkey, What Happens to Warriors after War) and directing her debut documentary Beyond the Wall: Homeless Zone, Alivia C. Tagliaferri developed this one hour literary discussion to be a powerful and evocative experience for everyone
as she shares her personal stories of how she came to understand the nature of PTSD, her experiences of interviewing those struggling with the disorder, healthcare providers whom treat veterans with PTSD, discussions with veterans and their families, the hidden symbolisms and meanings referenced in her novel, and a live performance of a piano ballad she composed as a therapeutic way to cope with the traumatic subject matter she was writing.  Click here to learn more.

Marketing Your Ideas and Creativity Workshops:
This one hour multi-media presentation presented by author and publisher Alivia C. Tagliaferri, combines in-class assignments and discussion points that focus on the following key areas: how students can utilize their existing resources, including their organic skill sets, knowledge, networks, and tools to fill their own creative page and maximize marketability; why using their own authentic ‘voice’ matters; the importance of proper planning; developing their ‘take-away’ message in reaching their intended market; and how to engage the local media. Participants in this workshop learn first-hand that regardless of genre or format, marketing your ideas and creativity does not happen passively, or by stroke of luck, and begins with the key ingredient of passion.  Perfect for high-school and undergraduate students.

FIRST-START PRODUCTIONS PROGRAM:
Ironcutter Media understands how hard it is to break into the production industry and earn a chance to prove what talents a new-comer possesses, or the frustration of being turned away from projects on the basis of “not enough experience.”  The First-Start Productions Program aims to employ high school and undergraduate producers, directors, editors, and technicians in effort to provide an opportunity to the next generation of film-makers to build their confidence, resumes, and skills of producing top-notch multi-media material that matters under the guidance of an experienced producer.  Ironcutter Media has launched this program with a Film and Television Production Program of a local Northern Virginia-based Academy in conjunction with both programs' mission to foster opportunity, talent, and career-growth.
