MRS. PEA’S CHILDREN’S BOOK SERIES

Promoting Children’s Literacy and Life Lessons

Mrs. Pea has a passion - to promote, inspire, and nurture the wellness of others.  Her series of children's books are not only beautifully illustrated by hand, but each story is embedded with subtle moral and social lessons in self acceptance, awareness and esteem.  As a mother of three, Mrs. Pea develops her stories in accordance with her own "pod" of three sons' likes, ideas and feedback.

I Am One Piece of Sand
BOOK ONE: I AM ONE PIECE OF SAND

The first book of the Mrs. Pea series.  Speck, a simple piece of sand, wants to be important. Come on now, you may be asking, “How does one piece of sand find worth when it is one of literally trillions?” Read on! The message your child will get, is that no matter how small and insignificant they may feel, THEY HAVE IMPORTANCE, and a right to be heard! Speck proves it!

BOOK TWO: TIMMY THE BOY & BLAKE THE BRONTOSAURUS (working title)

The second of the Mrs. Pea's series, TIMMY THE BOY AND BLAKE THE BRONTOSAURUS is partly inspired by her 5 year old son, Reid, who wondered, "What would it be like for a dinosaur to live today?"  Since, after all, dinosaurs are extinct, as Reid pointed out! But together, Mrs. Pea and Reid figured out a way the brontosaurus would truly would fit in!
Blake the Brontosaurus is taller than any of his play-friends.  Sometimes being so tall makes Blake feel out of place.  Until the day his friend Timmy makes a wonderful observation.  Blake is so tall that he is able to pop his head through the clouds and see heaven!  Imagine the gifts that a dinosaur who can see into heaven can bring to children who suffer from loss yet are unsure how to cope with grief.  Read the second book in the Mrs. Pea series to find out how to help children see that nothing is permanent, especially the utter sadness of loss. Sad endings can turn into new beginnings with the proper perspectives and the support of true friends.
